At South Asian Women’s Circle’s goal, we aim to provide traditionally marginalized women and femmes with reparative economic resources needed to live sovereign self-determined lives and preserve matriarchal cultural practices of South Asian descent.

We also recognize that Central Valley residents reside on the occupied territory of the traditional and ancestral homelands of the Yokuts people, the Kawaiisu people, the Tübatulabal people, the Newe people, the Fernadeño Tataviam people, the Kitanemuk people, and the Barbareño people. It also houses the people of neighboring tribal territories as well, exemplifying the longstanding Indigenous history that has persisted following genocide. Our territory also includes a well-documented anti-Black past that continues to this day and includes redlining, incarceration, labor injustices, and environmental injustices. Residents here face patriarchal systems, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, classism, white supremacy, and many other oppressive structures that make it difficult to survive. Our organization is extremely intentional in knowing the history that has led us to this point and know that to truly reach an equitable society these oppressive institutions must be abolished, inside our organization and inside our communities.
